Lakeya Mitchell is originally from Tampa, FL. but Savannah, GA is home.  She graduated from Johnson High School in Savannah, GA and afterwards, matriculated at Savannah State University receiving a Bachelor's of Science in Sociology and a Master's of Art in Professional Counseling from South University.  Lakeya is a Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of Transfigurations Counseling LLC.  She has over 15 years of working in the mental health industry.  Lakeya currently holds a LPC in three states, GA, Texas, and South Carolina. Recognized for exceptional service, Lakeya was listed as "Best Counselor in Savannah, GA" in 2022.  This is her second award where she was honored as one of the best counselors in Savannah, GA.  In addition to her running Transfigurations Counseling, she is the Behavioral Health Manager for Fetter Primary Health Care in South Carolina.   She is certified in crisis interventions and suicide prevention.  Serving as a Suicide Counselor for 8 years.  Additionally, she has an extensive background in HIV and Sexually Transmitted Diseases.

Lakeya has worked in every facet of behavioral health.   Her specialties as a therapist are Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Trauma, Anxiety and Depression.  She believes in giving back and volunteering, which has led to her active membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.  Her heart’s desire is to help remove the Mental Health Stigma and promote wholeness.
